Make your video content more natural, engaging and human.
Having a story is one thing. Getting people to want to watch it is another.
You don’t need to present like a BBC newsreader, deliver a perfectly scripted corporate message or try to become someone you’re not.
Good video communication is often much simpler: be clear, be yourself, understand your audience and give them a reason to keep watching.
This practical coaching programme helps you and your team become more confident and engaging when presenting stories, ideas and information on video.
Who it’s for
Perfect for:
- Small businesses
- Community organisations
- Charities and CICs
- Teams creating their own video content
- People who represent an organisation on camera
- Anyone who wants their video communication to feel more natural and engaging
You don’t need to be an experienced presenter.
Is this you?
- Our videos feel too formal or corporate.
- We don’t know how to make people more engaging on camera.
- We rely on the same person to present everything.
- Our people are nervous about appearing in videos.
- We find ourselves writing scripts that make people sound unnatural.
- We want our videos to feel more human.
- We’re not sure what makes people actually want to watch.
- We want to improve, but don’t want to become professional presenters.
If that sounds familiar, this is about finding a better way to communicate.
What we’ll work on
๐ฅ Be yourself on camera
You don’t need to create a completely different version of yourself for video.
We’ll look at how to bring your natural personality, warmth and enthusiasm into your presentation.
๐ฃ๏ธ Talk to people, not at them
We’ll explore ways to make your delivery feel like a conversation rather than a broadcast.
That might mean changing how you use scripts, notes, questions or prompts.
๐ Don’t be afraid to show some personality
Being professional doesn’t mean being serious all the time.
A smile, some warmth and a bit of personality can make a huge difference to how people connect with your content.
๐ฅ Mix up your presenters
Your organisation doesn’t have to rely on the same person for every video.
We’ll look at how different people can bring different voices, experiences and perspectives to your storytelling.
๐ Get the basics right
Great presentation can’t rescue a video people can’t hear.
We’ll look at the importance of good audio and the simple things that can make your videos easier and more enjoyable to watch.
๐ Think about the viewer
We’ll consider why someone should stop scrolling, keep watching and care about what you’re saying.
The story isn’t about the presenter. It’s about the connection with the audience.
You don’t need to present like the BBC
There is a temptation to think that professional video means looking and sounding like a television news programme. It doesn’t.
A community organisation talking about something it cares about shouldn’t necessarily sound like a news bulletin.
A small business shouldn’t have to sound like a corporate communications department.
Your personality is an advantage.
The aim is to find a style that feels authentic to you and appropriate for your audience.
How it works
Session One – Present & Practise
75 minutes
We’ll explore your current approach to presenting and what you’d like to improve.
We’ll discuss the principles of engaging video presentation and then put them into practice.
You’ll have the opportunity to record, watch yourself back and experiment with different approaches.
This isn’t a lecture about presentation. It’s practical coaching.
Between sessions
You’ll have time to put the ideas into practice.
Record some content. Try different approaches. Notice what feels natural and what doesn’t.
Bring your questions, examples or videos back to the second session.
Session Two – Review & Refine
45 minutes
We’ll review what you’ve created and work through what happened.
We’ll look at:
- What worked?
- What didn’t?
- Did it feel natural?
- Was the story clear?
- Did your personality come through?
- Was the presentation appropriate for your audience?
- What could you do differently next time?
Then you can try again with what you’ve learned.
What you’ll receive
By the end of the programme, you’ll have:
- Greater confidence presenting on camera
- A better understanding of your natural presentation style
- Practical experience recording yourself
- Feedback on your own video content
- A better understanding of what makes video engaging
- Practical ideas for using different people within your organisation
- Clear next steps for improving your future videos
Most importantly, you’ll have practised rather than just talked about it.
What we don’t do
This isn’t:
โ Professional TV presenting training
โ Acting coaching
โ A scriptwriting course
โ Advanced video production training
โ About making every video look polished and corporate
โ About creating a fake personality for social media
It’s about helping real people communicate more confidently and naturally on video.
What happens afterwards?
You take what you’ve learned and keep practising.
There is no expectation to book ongoing support.
If you later need help with a particular storytelling or content project, we can talk about whether The Badger’s Stripes DELIVER service is the right fit.
